"In addition to our range of standard products, we design, manufacture and commission special components and systems. Our broad experience and flexible approach means we can adapt standard products to suit individual control strategies. We have tackled some unusual projects with great success." Colin Snook
"We have an excellent record for designing automatic and energy efficient
solutions for individual control problems. Designing and implementing
reliable systems for new applications is a challenge we all relish.
Projects enhance ETC's understanding of boilers
and burners and ultimately benefits all of our customers." Martin Thirsk
VSD pump project at Land Rover reduces CO2 emissions by 270 tonnes and saves £26,800 pa on electricity bill

Following
a very successful trial in Land Rover's Solihull East Works boiler house,
ETC won an order to supply and install variable speed pump controls in
the North and South works boiler houses.
The performance of the pumps in East Works was monitored by
the site Building Energy Management system before and after installation. Prior
to the installation two pumps ran continuously at 45kW each. After installation
the pumps run at an average of 7.9kW each. The pumps are in use 24 hours per
day throughout the year and the resultant saving of 37kW per pump amounts to
a total 640 Mega Watt Hours p.a.
Land Rover enjoy electricity savings of £26,853
p.a. and the environment benefits from a reduction of 270 Tonnes CO2 emissions
p.a. at the power generating station.
It is thought that the emissions reductions and electricity
savings will treble when all three boiler houses are equipped with ETC's pump
speed controls.
In all three boiler houses the system and installation
costs have been kept to a minimum as the ETC design permits sharing of inverters,
e.g. in East Works three pumps share two inverters and in South Works four pumps
share three inverters.
