Employ boiler sequencing
ETC electronic control packages include a boiler sequencing option that allows you to:
- select a lead boiler to accommodate normal load
- choose a boiler sequence to suit anticipated changes in load
- automatically match boilers to changing demand
- minimise on/off cycles
Boiler Sequencing is sometimes called a “Lead/Lag” system.

On sites with multiple boilers the order or sequence in which the boilers come on-line and go off-line can be programmed into the boiler sequencing software by the boiler operator. An intelligent choice will ensure that boiler on/off cycles are minimised and that those boilers that are on-line are running at their most efficient for the load at any given time.
When boilers are of same or similar rating the lead boiler, the first in the sequence to come on-line, can be varied to ensure even wear of the boiler plant. When boilers differ in their rating and by knowing in advance what the boiler load is likely to be, the Lead Boiler and or the sequence can be chosen to best match the load.
The sequencing system prevents boilers from coming on-line unnecessarily. |
